Colour grading measures the level of yellowish tint contained in a diamond. The most sought-after stones present very little colour and would appear transparent and bright. The colour scale runs from D to Z, with D being the whitest or colourless down the scale through near colourless and tinted.

This grade measures the amount of imperfections contained in a diamond. We recommend you purchase an €˜eye clean€™ diamond, meaning a grade VS2 and higher. Your selected diamond's imperfections will not visible to the naked eye and would require a magnifying glass to be seen.

Often confused with shape, a diamond's cut grade indicates how well it sparkles. A superior diamond cut evenly places facets to reflect a maximum amount of light, creating the mesmerising finish so unique to diamond jewellery.

Fair: Although this cut isn't the most apt at reflecting light, it will still offer a good deal of sparkle while also being relatively bright.

Good: A well-cut diamond that will reflect enough light for a beautiful and sparkling display. Some darker spots in the diamond may be visible, but do not detract from the stone's brightness.

Very Good: This type of cut has near superior quality and practically holds the same amount of sparkle as an excellent cut, while coming in a significantly lower price.

Excellent: An excellent cut shows wildly superior light performance, which is mainly influenced by its good length to width ratio, as well as its depth. This cut ensures an eye-catching and sparkling display while also being extremely bright.
